Hans-Jörg Habersack studied mechanical engineering in Munich and was subsequently active as an engineer in South Africa.

Mr. Habersack has been active in the field of intellectual property rights since 1970. After becoming an accredited German Patent Attorney in 1973 he founded a patent law firm in Munich which he merged in 1976 with the Baden-Baden office of Erich Zipse to form the trans-regional Zipse Habersack partnership.

He is the author of the series ”Länderspiegel - Patente, Design, Marken“, a manual covering intellectual property rights on an international scale. Hans-Jörg Habersack has also authored a book on the utilization of inventions. His many years of experience in disputes before court led him to focus on mediation as an alternative to conventional means of ending disputes. He studied by distance learning to earn the degree of mediator awarded by the university in Hagen. Hans-Jörg Habersack is a founding member of the Association of German Patent Attorneys in promoting mediation.
